JamaicaWORLD WILL END IN 2011? - US church group predicts judgement - Jamaicans not convinced
If we are to believe the words of Family Radio, a non-profit organisation based in California in the United States, the world as we know it will come to an end May 21, 2011. The non-denomination Christian organisation... [read at Jamaica Star]

It is good that people are rejecting this date setting attempt. I have followed the teachings of this group for over 10 years and they have etsbalished some very heretical and unbiblical teachings.  This group of date setters were wrong when Camping predicted the end in 1994 and they will be wrong again.  The Lord is going to return but the person in the article was correct that we must be ready at all times.  When a person becomes saved, they are then readied for Heaven and the Lord's return.  These doomsday cults are what gives true Christians a bad name because when the date does not come to pass, then people look at Christians as crazy people when it is really only a very small group who refuse to think for themselves and relegate all thinking to their leader.  For more refutations of this cult go to:  http://www.scionofzion.com/depart_out.htm

No one can deny that Christ's coming will be like the days of Noah.  God told Noah the exact day, month and year of the flood.  God gave Noah 7 days to enter the ark.   Now, 7000 years after the flood, God is commanding the believers to prepare for judgment again.

No one can deny that Christ's coming will be like the days of Noah.  God told Noah the exact day, month and year of the flood.  God gave Noah 7 days to enter the ark.   Now, 7000 years after the flood, God is commanding the believers to prepare for judgment again. Mt 24:37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.  So, we know that Christ will not come as a thief in the night to the true believers because we are children of the light (I Thess 5).  However, God warns us that that scoffers will come in the last days who will try to keep us ignorant of these things.
II Peter 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.   Sadly, most churches do not teach this information because they have fallen away (II Thess 2).  In fact, the Bible teaches that Satan will rule over the church during the great tribulation (Matthew 24:15, II Thess 2:3-11).  So, if we remain in the church we will come under a strong delusion which will cause us to believe Satan's lies.
2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:    If you would like to learn more visit www.familyradio.com.  Family Radio also provides free books which explain salvation and judgment.   If you would like discuss these things with other Christians visit: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Latter_Rain/  Remember, we only have 18 months before Jesus returns on May 21, 2011.   Cry out to God for mercy (like the people of Ninevah) before it's too late! Fear God and give glory to Him,Darrell

Darell, you sir are an idiot.  There is NOTHING to indicate that when God told Noah he had 7 days, that there was any prophetic value to that beyond the 7 literal days Noah had before the flood.  You just can't pick and choose where you want to apply the "day is as a thousand years" pseudo research.  Did creation take 7 days or 7000 years?  Was Jesus in the ground for 3 days?  Was the resurrection on the 3000th year?

Hey, why don't you ask Harold Camping about the tribulation beginning in May 1988, and the judgment day that was supposed to come in September 1994?  Oops...I guess he was WRONG about those dates.  But this time, oh this time, he's got his calculator out so he won't have any addition problems when he figures out his dates.

One last question- what indicates that 4990 is the exact year of the Flood?  Most research dates it closer to 2000 BC, about 4000 years ago, not 7000.  Again, 7000 years is some arbitrary number that you all chose to just pick out of the air.  So anyway, yeah...you have to be EXACT.  How can you be exactly sure that it was 4990.  Not 4991, or 4989?  Because, even just a miscalculation of one year would totally throw this whole theory and prediction completely out of whack!  We can't even accurately date things like Ben Franklin's birthday just a couple hundred years ago, yet you all can date to the precise year the Flood that occurred in Genesis?  Wow.

Also, using your thousand years=1 day rule and applying that to the story of Noah, what about the 120 years that it took Noah to build the ark from the 1st day God told him to prepare.  I can't even do the math on how long 120 years converted into 365 days x 120 x 1000 is.  But that's a huge number.  How does that factor in?  What period of time is the  4,3800,000 years (I did the math)?  Oh, wait, are you saying that we're not applying that time rule to every detail of Noah's story?  Just the one part that you all like so that you can setup your timeline for a judgment 18 months away?  Hmm...

Oh you know I thought of something else maybe you can help me understand.  How come NOBODY, no Biblical scholar, not even Harold Camping himself, was able to figure out something so relatively simple as God giving Noah 7 days, and a day equalling 1000 years.  Like, that's like 2nd grade level Bible knowledge.  And yet not one Biblical scholar, not even the great awesome prophet Harold Camping, was able to figure this out until just now?  Not 100 years ago when it wouldn't really be impactul...but like a mere 18 months away, close enough to scare a bunch of people into donating more $ to Family Radio, but not too close so there's plenty of time to build the hype and increase donations.  And fortunately, old Mr. Camping will most likely be dead by 2011 anyway so he won't have to suffer the humiliation of twice predicting the end of the world and twice being wrong.  But sadly, like all false prophets, when Mr. Camping leaves this world he surely has a place prepared for him in Hell.  That man has probably lead so many souls astray through his radio station its sad.

Great! and I have my last student loan payement on the 20th.  I knew this would happen!  Does anyone know anyone who believes this as I would like to ask them for their earthly possesions as they will not need them after the 21st.  Alas, they have signed them over to some gold-toothed Pastor with the "answers."  I would love the Powerball numbers if anyone can figure out a formula for that.  As for the end?   I side with Jesus who was God and said.  "That is for My Father to know and not me."  Now if God's only son did not know...... besides if you are living like you feel God is calling you to live who cares when the jug is up........
