figure of 628 murders, no 8  a baby and an adults was shot
to death the other day during a home invasion.

Murder rose 25 per cent to 152 in May. The year’s total, up to June, is now 628. This compares to 688 murders during the corresponding periodin 2008 and 589 for 2007.

Portmore Crescent residents say gunmen taking 'set' on them

"Lawd Jesus have mercy, what me going to do," wailed the woman, a day after gunmen attacked and fatally shot her 18-year-old nephew, Renard Love, also called 'Tillie'.
The youth was walking along the lane when gunmen who had just invaded a house and shot two-year-old Jamoy Cunningham dead and wounded his uncle and father, saw him and opened fire.

WITH murders having fallen from 152 in May to 112 last month, theoverall figure for the year is now 740, lower than the 833 reported atthis point in 2008 but still higher than the 711 in 2007, according tothe latest crime statistics unveiled by the Jamaica Constabulary Force(JCF) today.
